Tanja Miličić

Tanja Miličić was born on December 14th 1974 in Pula, where she completed her elementary and secondary school education (Pula Gymnasium, department for culture and art). She was one of the first City Youth Workshop members participating in realization of numerous cultural projects. She moved to Great Britain in 1993 where she finished London Lambeth College for film, video and photography, and she graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in video, photography and visual arts with first-class honours in 2002. During her student days she was a volunteer and she worked for many non-governmental organizations gaining valuable and important life and organizational experiences.

During her studies she worked on many short-length feature and documentary films, and her graduation film Patchwork (2003) was screened on many European film festivals. The film was awarded for Best Director and Best Newcomer at the 12th Days of Croatian Film, as well as awarded the Oktavijan Award for Best Documentary film granted by the Croatian Film Critics Association. Tanja currently works on her second feature film.

She returned to Pula in 2003 when she commenced collaborating with the Pula Film Festival Public Institution, and in 2007 she became the Pula Film Festival full-time employee as a festival producer. Since 2008 Tanja holds the position of the Valli Cinema executive manager. Andrea Zlatar, Minster of Culture of the Republic of Croatia appointed Tanja as the Festival Artistic Board member.

She was a jury member of the international organization CICAE (The International Confederation of Art Cinemas), Europa Cinemas and ECFA (European Children's Film Association) at the Film Festival in Venice, Berlin, Sarajevo, Vilnius and Kristiansand. She completed training for art cinema managers under the guidance of The International Confederation of Art Cinemas at the Film Festival in Venice in 2009. She was selected as European Children's Film Association Board member in February 2014. She is a member of The City of Pula Cultural Council for Film, Performing and Drama and Theatre Arts, and of The Istria County Council for Music, Theatre Arts and Film. She also participated in creating The City of Pula and Istria County Cultural Strategies.
