Awards

In the competition category Croatian Programme - Croatian Film, the Croatian Jury awards the following prizes:

1. Grand Golden Arena for Best Festival Film (received by the Producer)
2. Golden Arena for Best Director
3. Golden Arena for Best Screenplay
4. Golden Arena for Best Actress
5. Golden Arena for Best Actor
6. Golden Arena for Best DOP
7. Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actress
8. Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actor
9. Golden Arena for Best Editing
10. Golden Arena for Best Music
11. Golden Arena for Best Scenography
12. Golden Arena for Best Costume Design
13. Golden Arena for Best Make-Up
14. Golden Arena for Best Sound Design
15. Golden Arena for Best Special Effects
16. Golden Arena for Best Visual Effects

The Croatian Jury reserves the right not to award prizes in all categories if it determines that no film achievement met the criteria.

The Croatian Jury awards the Breza prize. The Breza prize is awarded for the best debutant from one of the categories above.

In the category Croatian Programme – Croatian minority co-production, the Croatian Jury can award three Golden Arenas:

1. Golden Arena for Best Film
2. Golden Arena for Best Director
3. Golden Arena for Best Acting Performance

In the category International Programme the International Jury awards:

Golden Arena Best Feature Film

OTHER AWARDS:

1. Golden Gate of Pula. Arena Audience Award. The audience votes for the films in the category Croatian Programme, screened in the Arena, judging the films on a scale of 1 to 5. This award is sponsored by the City of Pula and the prize is awarded by a representative of the City of Pula during the final night of the Programme in the Arena.

2. Octavian. Croatian Society of Film Critics (hereinafter HDFK) award for the Best Film in the category Croatian Programme - Croatian film. The award is voted on by the HDFK accredited members at the Festival who judge the films on a scale of 1 to 5. If no film is graded with a mark greater than 3.5, the prize is not awarded.
The prize is awarded by a representative of the HDFK during the final night of the Programme in the Arena.

3. Diploma. HDFK award for Best Film in the category Croatian Programme - Croatian Minority Co-productions. The award is voted on by the HDFK accredited members at the Festival who judge the films on a scale of 1 to 5. If no film is graded with a mark greater than 3.5, the prize is not awarded.
The prize is awarded by a representative of the HDFK during the final night of the Programme in the Arena.

4. Recognition. Foreign critics accredited at the Festival or members of international film critics' organisations may grant awards for Best Films in the Croatian and International Programme, in agreement with the Organiser and under care of the Arts Council. The Organiser decides about the form and the venue for presenting this award.

5. Marijan Rotar. The Governing Board of the public institution Pula Film Festival prize may be awarded to individuals and institutions who have connected the city of Pula and film with their ideas and work.
The Organiser decides about the form and the venue for presenting this award.

6. Sponsor Awards. Donors and sponsors of the Festival may grant awards in accordance with their contracts. The Organiser decides about the form and the venue for presenting these awards.

At the 63rd Pula:
-TELEKING grants the producer of the film, winner of the Grand Golden Arena, a post-production services package: image mastering amounting to 10.000€.
- HYPO ALPE ADRIA BANK grants the director of the film, winner of the Golden Arena for Best Festival Film, HRK 30.000,00.
- JULIUS MEINL COFFEE - grants the best debutant, winner of the Breza prize, HRK 7.000,00.

In accordance with Article of Pula Film Festival Statute Amendments, the organizer may form one or more Juries depending on programmes.

At the 63rd Pula Film Festival the following prizes will also be awarded:
DIPLOMA - The Jury of Neighbours and Friends programme awards the diploma for the best film. 
DIPLOMA - The Jury of the Short Pula programme awards the diploma for the best film.
DIPLOMA - The Jury of the Student Programme awards the diploma for the best film.  

PRIZES AWARDED AT THE FESTIVAL:

1. Fabijan Šovagović. Award for exceptional contribution to Croatian cinematography given by the Croatian Society of Film Directors.
2. Vedran Šamanović. Award to a film artist, of any field of the film arts, in any kind of film, feature and short film, who has expanded the boundaries of film expression in Croatian films during the current year, with his innovative approach. It is awarded by the Croatian Society of Film Workers, Croatian Society of Film Critics, Croatian Film Directors, Society of Croatian Cinematographers and Croatian Film Association.
3. Nikola Tanhofer: Award for the most significant contributions to cinematography in categories: feature film, short films and television series in the previous year.  It is awarded by the Society of Croatian Cinematographers.
