volonteri62

Pula Film Festival continues its tradition of gathering young people with the passion for film art through professional workshops and organizational processes. This year we invite young people to join us as part of our voluntary service, and for those with more serious film intentions, to participate in the programme of film critics for young Cinephiles.

At the 63 Pula Film Festival, anyone aged 18 years old and over can apply to volunteer and join the enthusiastic team in the realization of the largest and most visited Croatian film festival. Volunteers will be engaged to work at all the festival locations and in all departments during the period from the 2nd to the 17th of July 2016.

For the sixth year, volunteers will be part of the Pula festival atmosphere and an integrative part of the festival process. Young people like to be part of and volunteer at the Pula Film Festival to gain valuable experience creating the largest Croatian Film Festival, acquired through plenty of entertainment, socialising with movie professionals and creating new friendships. The volunteers are offered free film screenings in their spare time, official T-shirts, cooked meals, recommendations for further engagements in future festivals and certification of volunteering.

Applications for volunteering lasts until the 20th June 2016 and more information on the work of volunteer services at the festival, the entry forms and regulation go be found HERE.

To participate in the contest for the programme Young Cinephiles Film Critics it is necessary to love film art and want to become part of it with your own critical comments. If you recognize yourself in this role and you belong to the age group 18 – 29, apply and participate in the competition by the 15th June 2016.

Eight candidates who demonstrate to be the best in the competition will have the opportunity to explore the seventh art, acquire film education with numerous lectures and workshops and participate in discussions with experts in the field of audio-visual activities from the 9th to the 16th of July. Together with a good knowledge of Croatian and English, one of the requirements of the competition is to create a positively and a negatively orientated review of a film broadcast on Croatian television or in the cinema until the 15th of June. Reviews can be submitted as written text or in any other form, from comics to short films. Prominent Croatian film critic and mentor of this year's Cinephiles, Mario Kozina, will assess and evaluate the received reviews.

The Participants of the programme will be provided with accommodation, food, festival catalogues and special accreditation for all screenings. Their duties will include watching Croatian, international and short films, commenting and assessing the viewed creations, participation in surveys, discussions and interviews with the authors of films and write reviews, blogs and similar.
